Top 5 Highlights from Hotel Data Conference 2016
Last year’s Hotel Data Conference was packed with hotel industry trends, market performance results, and forecasts from experts across the globe. Our attendees have shared their top 5 highlights from HDC 2016.
Since 2016 was a presidential year, HDC just had to schedule some debates—and the three debates had everyone talking. From the always top-of-mind topic of distribution to the value of loyalty programs and the pros and cons of owning or operating independent hotels, the debates helped attendees stay in tune with key issues.
4. Diving Deeper
You asked, and we listened. Attendees in 2015, wanted to go deeper and we accomplished that with our Data Dives in 2016. Attendees were drawn to our 60-minute Data Dive discussions. These sessions presented in-depth information and conversation about the process of forecasting marketing performance, key performance metrics from all regions of the world, leading indicators of RevPAR, historical ADR performance, and much more. The Data Dives will return in 2017—with even more topics to tackle.
3. Attracting top-notch executives
HDC 2016 was filled with top-level executives from Choice Hotels International, Hilton, Sun Companies, Apple Hospitality REIT, Carlson Companies, Hersha Hospitality—and much more. We’re aiming to make the lineup of speakers HDC 2017 as dynamic as ever! The exposure and information garnered from the conference have made HDC an attractive event for participation from big names in the hotel industry.
2. Packed Networking
HDC 2016 offered several opportunities for attendees to network with one another and created lasting relationships. Everyone flocked to these events and gave feedback that they were one of their favorite parts of the conference. The Opening Networking Reception on day one was an attendee favorite with drinks and hors d’oeuvres in the beautiful lobby of Omni Nashville Hotel, and the atmosphere of the evening networking event on day two following our debate about distribution was electric.
1. Enjoy & Learn
HDC 2016 conference goers wholeheartedly agreed they received an excellent value for their registration fee. While they learned, networked, and shared, they also enjoyed themselves in one of America’s most fun cities. HDC provides an opportunity to experience Nashville and the surrounding areas through food, music, and sightseeing.
This year’s 9th annual HDC will build on the foundation of the success in 2016 and years prior. We’re putting some great plans in place to push HDC 2017 to the next level.
